The Sweet Potato Festival celebrates South Carolina’s Revolutionary War history while highlighting the enduring contributions of African American and Native American communities. Through reenactments, educational presentations, indigo and agricultural demonstrations, and community partnerships, the event connects past and present under the theme: “From the Revolution to Today: Food, Freedom & Legacy.” The Carolina Opry Christmas Special, often called “The Christmas Show of the South,” will open its 40th season of enchanting holiday performances on November 1.
