The Murrells Inlet MarshWalk brings Louisiana to South Carolina with Marshi Gras on the MarshWalk!
The MarshWalk will hold a costume parade led by Marshi Gras? very own King and Queen. Giveaways of over $1,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to the top four costumes.
Anyone can join the parade along the way, but only the participants who registered will be considered for prizes. Our judges will be watching the parade and only registered costumes are eligible to win the prizes.You must be at least 18 years of age to participate in our adult costume contest.
If spectators do not have an awesome costume to wear, no fear! Each of the eight restaurants and bars at the MarshWalk will be giving away accessories and party favors including masks, beads, and much more!
Don?t forget to stop in to each restaurant and try some authentic cuisine as well. We know all that parading can make you thirsty, so take advantage of the nightly drink specials. Join us for Moveable Feast, luncheons with exciting authors, artists, musicians and historians at area eateries.
The Moveable Feast, founded and managed by Linda Ketron, is now in its 29th year. Held at local restaurants weekly throughout the year on Tuesdays or Wednesdays when the presenter or the preferred venue is available, the presentation precedes the meal. For each Feast, the chef prepares a special menu. Food allergies are accommodated with advance notice; vegetarian option always available. Individuals, couples, friends, book clubs, and other small groups are assigned table seating. Although the per feast price has increased in response to increased food and labor costs at the restaurants, your gift certificates or unused three-fer credits will be honored. CLASS offers four 6-week courses for beginners and seasoned artists using the copper foil and solder method of stained glass art. You will choose appropriate level projects to work on. Basic tools are provided (glass cutters, grinders, and soldering irons) along with scraps of glass for use in your projects. Beginner kits containing solder, copper foil and flux are available for purchase from the instructor. There is also a limited supply of stained glass that can be purchased. The classes are structured in a relaxed atmosphere working at your own pace. Individual attention and instruction is provided. Students will be working with soldering irons, grinders, and sharp edged glass, requiring dexterity, steadiness, and the ability to stand for long periods of time. Featuring a cast of over 35 of the nation’s most talented performers, The Carolina Opry show spans all genres to bring you the best hits of yesterday and today.
